Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra slip massively on Forbes richest Indian celebs list
Forbes India's 2018 list of richest Indian celebrities was released in December and actor Salman Khan emerged as the front runner with earnings amounting to Rs 253.25 crore. Among the female celebs, actress Deepika Padukone emerges as the richest with earnings of Rs 114 crore. The actress who had a sensational run at the box office with Padmavat ranked at number 4 leaving many of her colleagues far behind. Among the top five richest celebrities, two of them are from the sports category namely Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni.
However, it wasn't a great year for everyone featured in the top 100 list. For example, actor Shah Rukh Khan slipped eleven positions to number 13 with a decent earning of only Rs 56 crore. Shah Rukh Khan, who had no release in between the considered time frame (October 1, 2017, and September 30, 2018), had featured on number 2 on the 2017 list with a whopping income of Rs 170.50 crore.
Of all the things I have done for Mere Naam Tu...this is the sweetest. My daughter teaching me to get the lyrics right on the sets. Hope after she sees the song she approves... pic.twitter.com/qfQ2hhEF9F

Another major upset was actress Priyanka Chopra who ranked at number 49. Priyanka not only massively slipped from number 7 to 49, but the 'Quantico' actress earned only Rs 18 crore. The actress, who recently married singer Nick Jonas, featured way below other Bollywood actors, cricketers and actors from the south.
The list also witnessed new entrants from the South Indian film industry. Nayantara is the only woman to make it to the list from the south. The list also includes an interesting mix of debutants, including India's EDM trailblazer Nucleya, Malayalam actor Mammootty, Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda, Telugu director Kortala Siva and actress Taapsee Pannu.
