5 Bollywood actors who died young
From the ever so beautiful Madhubala to the tragedy king Guru Dutt and the sizzling Jiah Khan, here are 6 actors who we would have liked to see more on the silver screen. But alas, they left us a little too soon!
1. Guru Dutt: (9 July 1925- 10 October 1964)
The original tragedy king of Bollywood; Guru Dutt lived a life similar to his screen life. The actor who starred in classic's like ‘Pyaasa', ‘Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam' and ‘Kagaz k Phool' committed suicide consuming an overdose of sleeping pills and alcohol when he was all of only 39 in 1964!
2. Madhubala: 14 February 1933- 23 February 1969)
In a life span of nothing more than 36; Madhubala has earned her the rightful position of one of the most graceful diva's that Bollywood may ever see. Starting her career as a child artist in the film ‘Basant' in 1942, Madhubala went on to do timeless classics like ‘Mughal-e-Aazam' and ‘Mr. and Mrs. 55'. The actress died owing to heart complications in 1969.
3. Smita Patil: 17 October 1955- 13 December 1986)
She was one of the actresses who made a hard hitting impact in art and noir films and was equally successful in commercial cinema. Despite having a career that was just a decade long; Smita Patil's films like ‘Mirchi Masala' and ‘Ardh Satya' have made her a true blue actor. Sadly though, Smita passed away due to birthing complications while giving birth to her first child Prateek with husband Raj Babbar when she was nothing more than 31 years.
4. Divya Bharti: (25 February 1974- 7 April 1993)
She was one of those few actors' who died under very mysterious circumstances; when she was on the verge of becoming a superstar. Divya was all of 19 years only when she died of excessive internal bleeding at the back of her head when she fell of her 5th floor balcony apartment in Versova. Whether she fell under the influence of alcohol or someone pushed her out, still remains a mystery!
5. Jiah Khan: (20 February 1988-3 June 2013)
The British-American actress became a name to reckon with after films like Houseful and Nishabd. The actress who was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her flat on the 3rd of June 2013 had blamed her then boyfriend and the son of Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab; Sooraj Pancholi in her suicide note. The actress made her last screen presence in Houseful in 2010 and was only 25 years when she breathed her last.
